An Opportunity to train for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Training or those who would like to implement or teach using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum is being provided locally on May 17-19 and again on June 14-16, 2013.  This is a powerful Montessori-based children’s curriculum that focuses on scripture, the liturgy, and the joy and wonder of the child.  In this program adults journey with children as they live more fully into the relationship God has already begun with them.  For more information on the program check out the National Association for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd website and read and share this description from St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Arlington.

The trainer, Catherine Maresca, is the leading trainer in our nation, and comes from Washington D.C.  This is an opportunity you do not want to miss!  Details on the training are available here. The training will be Part 2 of Level One training; Part 1 can be picked up at a later time if you have not yet taken it.  This training can cost as much as $700 per person for those who would travel to D.C. to take it.  Through an initiative by St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, it is offered locally for $350 per person.  St. Alban’s is sweetening the deal, offering scholarships to any priests, Sunday school teachers, senior wardens or interested parents from the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth.

St. Alban’s says, “YOU TELL US what you can afford to contribute, and come and join us.  We are trusting the Lord to provide the resources to make this happen.”

In this initiative, St. Alban’s has already received a gift of $260 from the The Order of the Daughters of the King, Province VII; this amount nearly covers one FULL scholarship.
